"The democracy is built by the people for the people. Not big business, not political party, not uniformity by namely who is elected in office with a party agenda. This is our liberty and our freedom. I won’t let one party or another define me as an American. All should have equal opportunities to vote."

"Anybody should be able to vote regardless of the party they’re registered under."
Andrew Hall Independent voter, Small business owner![]()
"This is extremely important and necessary, not just in Nevada, but nationwide elections as well. The people should not be betrothed to an individual party, nor person. All of our voices matter, and the current voting methodology in America is antiquated and toxic."
Tyician Knight Teacher/educator![]()
"I think it’s important for the many Nevadans that register as Independent don’t feel like their vote is a waste. I was telling my students about how the system for us works and how it forces people into one of two parties but that’s not how it should be. I hope we can change this and allow more voices to be heard."
Luke Karas Wedding Event Specialist![]()
"Closed primaries prevent independent voters from partaking in the democracy we have in this country. It is anti democratic to only allow people to vote in elections due to their documented ideology. Everyone should be able to vote in any election for where they live."
Ryan Costella Independent voter![]()
"Extremists in the parties enable authoritarianism. We must not allow the voice of the silent majority of reasonable people to be shut out from the primary process and enable extremism to ruin our democracy."
Steve Lopez Independent voter![]()
"Any area that doesn't allow all voters to vote for who they choose is restricting votes and therefore unfair, simple."
James D Logan Independent voter, Small business owner, Union member![]()
"I have been both a Republican and a Democrat because I was forced to affiliate with a major party to vote in the primaries. I am an independent thinker and voter. I feel that it is my civic duty to vote for the person that I feel is the best candidate regardless of party affiliation. I also think that it is important that we maintain a balance of power in our government. This balance is necessary to prevent extreme agendas from either side of the isle. Our Democratic Republic requires compromise to represent all Americans. This gives the power to the people to help prevent extremism. This could eliminate unqualified people who could be elected simply because they exploit flawed election laws and have the resources to run more effective campaigns. Vote yes on 3 so we can all become more effective voters."
Kameron Teddick Teacher/educator, Other![]()
"We should all have the opportunity to vote in primaries, regardless of party affiliation! Let us pick who we want."

"Accurate vote count and the confidence that every vote matters encourages citizens being involved and limiting what corrupt politicians do. Forcing honesty with competition helps reduce the opportunity for corruption in the voting process."
Ben Kohls Independent voter, Agriculture![]()
"Voting YES on 3 is a vote for more choices. It is a chance to move away from polarizing politics where we are forced to pick the candidate we hate the least instead of someone we may actually like and support. It is a chance to make democrats and republicans work for the people instead of their big money donors. It’s simply more Democratic. Unfortunately, this is the two parties biggest nightmare and they will actively fight against any system that increases democracy or benefits 3rd party candidates. They have all the money, all the power, all the influence, and work together to screw every day Nevadans over for their own self interests. Voting YES on 3 is the only realistic way for normal citizens to fight this cronyism."

"EVERY Nevadan should have the right to cast their vote in open primaries. We are independent for this reason. We choose whom we think is the best candidate, not based on party affiliation. Thousands and thousands of voters have moved to the Independent Party because were sick and tired of negative party-line politics. We should NOT have our voices and choices silenced and marginalized. I’m voting YES on 3. And if you believe EVERYONE’S vote and voice should count, you should too."
Pablo Alvarado Student![]()
"I have been registered as an independent voter ever since I received my first drivers permit back in 2017. Given that I typically vote Democratic given my values and views on all political issues, I was surprised to see that the independent voter ballot is very limited and does not give you access to both republican and democratic candidates for congressional elections. I do not see why independent voters should be barred from voting for either major party as both parities hold significant influence over our daily lives, and for 600,000 or so independent voters in Nevada, those are voices that cannot remain unheard and yet still be expected to continue to our elections through the laughable independent ballots. All parties should be available to vote for these voters."

"As a non partisan member we I had done research on candidates that were not on my ballot. As a voter i believe it is important that I’m not restricted by my party nor restricted from due to my lack of alignment in a party."
Jerushia McDonald Small business owner![]()
"I think it’s very important to vote YES on 3, it allows me as an independent voter to cross over to the various parties on the issues that agree with me instead of having me isolated in a box of one party. As a business owner and a woman. I think it’s very crucial for Women & Voters to be able to make choices without limitations."

"Question 3 is a great way to weed out extremist candidates that do not represent the many voices in our state. As an educator, I am excited that more voters will allow us to have better candidates that appeal to the full electorate and will work for all of the people of Nevada."

"As a libertarian, I am currently unable to vote in a primary election just because I don't subscribe to the established binary political system. This provision allows voters like me a chance to participate in the voting process regardless of if it is a primary or general election."

"Yes on 3 will finally let all independent / nonpartisan Nevadans fully participate in every NV election. I’m a Navy veteran and proud independent voter, who grew-up working trade shows in Las Vegas almost every summer. My Navy Squadron trained in Fallon, NV multiple times a year. I’m the Founder of Veterans for Political Innovation - a national 501(c)(3) community of veterans and supporters mobilizing to make politics less toxic through the most powerful, nonpartisan election innovations, such as Top-5 Open Primaries + instant runoff voting - that’s what Question 3 will do!!"

"If you are like me and have grown absolutely exhausted with the toxic climate of partisan politics and the "winner-take-all," two-party system that often leaves you voting for the lesser of two evils, please look into Question 3. Open Primary elections and Ranked-Choice voting are two reforms political scientists and people of ALL kinds of political leanings agree leads to better representation and more independent voices in politics. "As an individual who has views that both agree and disagree with both the Democratic and Republican parties, I feel it’s important that I have a choice to vote as an Independent thinker. It’s time that we have more than two parties to choose from. Not everyone agrees 100% with just one party any longer. It’s way past time to change for the greater good of our Country! And it’s time to quit blaming one party or the other for the downfall of our current economic situation. Change is needed."
