By opening Nevada’s primaries, Question 3 on November's ballot will give every Nevadan the right to vote - regardless of party registration. Currently, Nevada’s closed election system excludes over 600,000 voters from participating in primaries because they are not registered to either major political party. Question 3 will guarantee the right to vote to independent and third party registered voters, resulting in candidates appealing to the full electorate, not just the most extreme voices from within their parties. Question 3 takes the power away from political party bosses and special interests and gives that power back to its rightful owner - the people of Nevada.
